Fashion Forward, Always!

One cannot discuss Sex and the City without giving due credit to its extraordinary fashion sense, and And Just Like That does not disappoint. The show’s main characters, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), once again grace our screens with their impeccable style and interesting statement pieces. In Episode 2, keep your eyes peeled for a rather unusual ‘pigeon purse’ that Carrie dons with a janitor-esque jumpsuit… It’s clear that this season, you’ll see fashion choices that are bold, vibrant, and err certainly unique.

Love, Loss, and New Beginnings

While we won't spoil all the surprises, rest assured that And Just Like That dives headfirst into the complex and unpredictable world of relationships. Carrie, now a widow, navigates the dating scene once again, Miranda grapples with the challenges of marriage and her new relationship with comedian Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), and Charlotte takes on the role of the overbearing mother to two children (well three if you count Anthony Marentino). The show effortlessly explores the joys and pitfalls of romance, reminding us that no matter our age, love is an adventure worth pursuing.

Friendship Never Goes Out of Style

One of the defining aspects of Sex and the City was the unbreakable bond between the four leading ladies. In And Just Like That, their friendship remains the heart and soul of the show – except of course for Samantha (sad face). While And Just Like That introduces new characters and fresh storylines, it does pays homage to the beloved characters of the past. The absence of Samantha was deeply felt in Season 1, but the show does find a way to honour her memory and keep her spirit alive throughout the new season. You’ll just have to wait and see how. It’s clear, friendship is paramount to And Just Like That, proving that no matter where life takes us, our friends will always be there to catch us when we fall.

Embracing Change and Tackling Taboos

In the spirit of the original show, And Just Like That tackles societal issues and taboos with honesty and wit. The new season dives into the challenges of ageing gracefully, the importance of embracing diversity and inclusion, and the ever-evolving landscape of modern relationships. With its clever writing and thought-provoking storylines, the show encourages viewers to reflect on their own lives and consider the broader implications of the world we live in. Woohoo, that’s the kind of TV we like to see!

And Just Like That invites viewers on a delightful journey filled with fashion, love, friendship, and life’s unpredictable moments. With a mix of nostalgia and modern storytelling, the show manages to capture the essence of its predecessor while addressing contemporary issues. So, whether you’re a die-hard Sex and the City fan or new to the world of these fierce and fabulous women, this new season promises to be an exciting one.
